Drunk Daze (Zero/Iris)The days passed by. Iris remained dedicated to her duties, and thanks to the new supply of E-crystals she no longer had to worry about hunger. It was pretty much business as usual, except for one thing: she did everything she could to avoid Zero.
The ex-Maverick Hunter had become a thorn in her side. When Iris was minding her own business cleaning or doing other tasks, Zero occasionally dropped in uninvited. He would watch her work, and she would ignore his presence until she finished her task. The first few times this happened, she let it slide and hoped he would get bored. However, after the fifth occurrence, Iris finally got fed up.
“Don’t you have something better to do than stalk me?!” she snapped.
“You’re always working,” Zero responded. “Don’t you ever take a break?”
“Sure I do,” Iris replied. “It’s just things have been so busy around here that I haven’t had a chance. Now, go away! I’m sur
Malpractice (Zero/Iris)Iris stayed on standby with the rest of the medical team as they all waited for the next update about the Mechaniloid. Zero was out there trying to destroy it before it reached the base, and the lookout would announce updates to the situation every so often. Although everyone had high hopes that Zero would succeed, if worse came to worse they would have to be prepared to treat a large number of injured.
Iris absently massaged her bandaged wrist with her thumb. It gave her something to do while she awaited her next order, and for some reason the action helped calm her. The other medical Reploids asked her what had happened to her wrist, and she explained that she had just been in an unfavorable situation.
At last, a voice came on over the PA. “The Mechaniloid has been destroyed! The Resistance base is safe!”
Everyone cheered at the good news. Zero had done it again. The medical team quickly prepared for Zero’s return so they could repair any injuries he had sustained.
Bound for Trouble (Zero/Iris)Morning came again, and Iris was in a good mood. Her sleep was restful and free of dreams, and Zero wasn’t around to bother her. Not only that, Ciel would be well enough to go back to work today if she was lucky. Iris hummed happily as she got herself ready. She could feel that today was going to be a good day.
When she opened her door to leave, her attitude did an about-face. Standing in her way was Zero. Iris tried very hard not to groan.
“What is it, Zero?” she asked through clenched teeth. “If you have business with me, you’d best finish it soon, because I do not have the time or patience to deal with you.”
“Fine. This will only take a second,” he replied. Before Iris could even think, Zero snatched her right hand and clamped a metal object around her wrist, just below her wristband. There was a resounding click as the object locked securely into place. Iris’s eyes grew to the size of saucers.
“No,” she began.
Kidnapped (Zero/Iris)It was a well-known fact in the Resistance base that Ciel was incredibly strong-willed. Despite her young age, she had bravely faced and overcome more challenges than most people would in their entire lives. That strong will came along with stubbornness, and Ciel would continuously push herself to the limit even though doing so was detrimental to her health.
This was why Iris currently had her hands full trying to keep Ciel in bed. The scientist had caught a bad case of stomach flu and was vomiting to the point where she couldn’t keep anything down, but she still insisted on trying to run her operation. It was a wonder Ciel could even move given how ill she was.
“Dr. Ciel, for the last time: You. Need. Rest,” said Iris.
“Can’t…rest…” Ciel moaned deliriously. “Got to--Urk!”
Iris grimaced as Ciel leaned over the bucket beside her bed and puked for the umpteenth time. There was almost nothing in her stomach left to expel,
